February 29

  • 1-3pm, meet at Pettee Memorial Library (16 S Main Street) for a Poetry Snowshoe .Bring your own snowshoes, and meet at the Library to carpool! Snowshoe will go from the end of Fairview Avenue down to the boat launch and follow a trail back up to the cars. Fairly flat, accessible for (most) abilities. Stop along the way to enjoy some poems posted on the route. For more information, call the library: 464-8557.

  • 2-5 pm, Red Fox Shop (4 South Main Street): Wine tasting Stop by to sample some of the shop’s hand-picked and wonderfully eclectic selections. Must be 21 or over to taste.

  • All day, weather permitting: build a snowman in town! Stop by the Chamber (21 W. Main St.) or Pettee Library (16 S. Main St.), where you’ll find snowman kits containing all the accoutrement a snowman might need (carrots, coal, sticks, and outerwear!) or bring your own. Build a snowman on any open lawn around town (look for the signs if you are not sure where)... and be sure to share a picture of your creation with us! Tag @wilmingtonworks on Facebook or Instagram.

  • 1-5 pm The Fashion Plate and Rock River Restoration (31 W. Main Street): Stop by and and enter their raffle, each Saturday during the program. They'll pick winners (of a $50 gift certificate, one from each shop!) on Leap Day (February 29).

  • 1-4 pm Village Roost (20 West Main St.), pick a game off the shelf in the back room and settle in for game time by the fire with family or friends.
