Wilmington Works Program Coordinator 
Job Description

Part-time Hourly 25 hours/week average

Pay rate TBD, depending on experience

 

 We seek a person with skills in event planning, implementation and follow up, community outreach, budget creation and management, and fundraising.

 

 

  • Coordinate the activities of Wilmington Works, its Board of Directors and its four committees (Executive, Design, Economic Development and Promotion).  Attend board and committee meetings.

  • Manage all administrative aspects: including maintaining an appropriate data system for record keeping, purchasing, preparing monthly financials and other reports for the Board of Directors, documenting all physical and business changes to the downtown, retaining information on job creation and business retention, and submitting required information to the Vermont Main Street program and the Wilmington Selectboard.

  • Assist the Executive Committee in planning and operating an annual budget.

  • Update and maintain Wilmington Works’ web and social media presence on a weekly basis, communicate via press releases to local media outlets and monthly e-newsletters to downtown businesses and downtown visitors.

  • Working with committees, assist in creating annual work plans for each of the committees.

  • Work with businesses in the downtown regarding property and business improvements.

  • Working with the committees, coordinate programs, promotions and special events on behalf of Wilmington Works.  Events and programs include: block parties, shop local program, village strolls, and more.

  • Working with the Board of Directors, develop and conduct fundraising, including annual appeal, grants and events.

  • Working with the Board of Directors and its committees, coordinate and recruit an active volunteer force.

  • Coordinate with the Town of Wilmington, including its Town Manager and Economic and Community Development Specialist.

  • Communicate with the Director of the Vermont Downtown Program to ensure that Wilmington maintains its downtown designation.  Attend Vermont Downtown Program trainings and meetings as needed.

  • Help build strong, productive working relationships with appropriate public agencies at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
